Name Necklaces in Any Language: See Yours in Gold Before You Order
Posted by YANIV SEGAL

You can order a Segal gold name necklace in 10 scripts, from English and Hebrew to Arabic, Chinese, Korean and Thai. Type the name in its own alphabet, press Generate necklace, and about 30 seconds later the page shows that exact name drawn in gold, before you pay anything. This is the complete list of supported scripts and languages, how the preview works, and the few limits to know.

Can you get a name necklace in any language?
Almost any. Our gold name necklaces support 10 writing systems, and because many languages share an alphabet, those 10 scripts cover far more than 10 languages. Latin letters alone handle English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German and most of Europe. The Arabic script option includes the extra letters used in Persian/Farsi and Urdu.
What matters is that you type the name in its own script. A Korean name typed in Hangul is drawn as Hangul; the same name typed in English letters is drawn in English. The necklace is made exactly as typed.

How the custom name necklace preview works
Every name is different, and so is the way its letters meet. Rather than showing you a sample name and asking you to imagine yours, the product page draws your actual name.
- Open any gold name necklace page, or start from the collection for your script in the table above.
- Choose the metal: 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum.
- Type the name in its own alphabet. Up to 9 letters, one or two words, letters only.
- Press Generate necklace. About 30 seconds later, your name appears drawn in gold. Diamond name necklaces take about 1 minute.
- Check spelling, letter connections and direction. Change anything and generate again as often as you like.
- Order when it looks right. The necklace is made to order in Los Angeles from exactly what you typed, and ships free worldwide.

Limits to know before you type
Up to 9 letters for the instant preview. Nine letters is the longest we cast in one piece automatically. For a longer name, message us from the product page and we will cut it by hand.
One or two words. Two words work for a first and middle name, two short names, or a name with a short word.
Letters only. For numbers or symbols, message us and we will make it by hand.
Diamond name necklaces are English letters only. For a name in any other script, choose a gold or platinum version.
Why order a name necklace in your own language
Think of a daughter who wants her grandmother's name in Armenian, parents who want their child's name in both Korean and English as two necklaces, or a bride who wants her name in Hindi for her wedding week. A name written in the alphabet it was born in carries the family story with it, and the live preview means you no longer have to trust that a workshop got an unfamiliar alphabet right. You can see it yourself, and send the screenshot to anyone in the family who reads it.

Tips for right-to-left and character-based scripts
Hebrew and Arabic read right to left, so the first letter sits on the wearer's right. Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters have strokes that do not touch, so they sit on a thin gold base bar that holds the name together. Each script has its own spelling questions, from Hebrew final letters to Arabic hamza to simplified vs traditional Chinese. Our language guides cover them: Hebrew, Arabic and Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Whatever the language, confirm the spelling with the wearer or their family before ordering.
