Found a Ring on Pinterest or Instagram? How to Get It Made
Posted by YANIV SEGAL

To get a ring made from a Pinterest or Instagram photo, save the image, screenshot a few angles, and send them to a custom jeweler with your ring size, budget and date. At Segal, we rebuild the design in 3D, you approve the preview, pick stone and metal, and we handcraft it in Los Angeles. We create original rings inspired by your photo, adjusted to you.

Can you get a ring made from a picture you found online?
Yes. Most of the custom rings we design start as a saved pin, a screenshot from a feed or a photo a friend shared.
A picture tells us the overall style, the stone shape and the setting. From there, we build a ring sized to your hand, in the metal and stone you choose.
Send it through our custom ring from a photo page. There is no cost to ask.
Inspired by, not a copy: what we can and cannot make
Many popular ring photos online are original designs from independent makers, and some are trademarked pieces from designer houses. We do not copy branded or trademarked merchandise.
What we do is design an original ring inspired by what you love about the photo. That might be the hidden halo, the slim band, the floral gallery or the way the stone sits low.
Tell us which details matter most. We keep those, and build the rest around your proportions and budget.
Which photos help most?
One screenshot is enough to start, but more angles mean fewer guesses. Here is what each type of image lets us measure.
| What you send | What it lets us see or measure | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Single screenshot | Overall style, stone shape, setting type | Save the original post, not a cropped thumbnail |
| Multiple angles (top, side, three-quarter) | Setting height, gallery, hidden halo, band profile | Carousel posts often include side views; screenshot each |
| Short video | How the stone moves, sparkle, band thickness from several sides | Pause on the clearest frames and screenshot them too |
| Hand shot with scale | Stone size relative to the finger, band width | Note the ring size in the caption if it is listed |
| Several different rings | Which details you like from each | Tell us what to take from each photo |
Our checklist of what to send a jeweler covers every angle in detail.
How does it work, step by step?
- Send the photo or photos with your ring size, budget and date if known.
- Our designers rebuild the ring in 3D, and you get a design preview to approve, with changes until it's right.
- Choose the stone (natural diamond, lab-created diamond, moissanite or colored gemstone) and the metal (14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum).
- Optionally order the $199 Try It In Real Life 3D-printed replica.
- We handcraft the ring to order in our Los Angeles workshop with conflict-free stones.
You work directly with me, Yaniv Segal, as your designer. Tell us your date when you send the photo, and we'll confirm the timeline before you order.

What changes the price of a ring from a photo?
Photos online rarely list the stone, carat or metal, so the same look can land at very different prices. These are the levers that matter most.
| Factor | Effect on price |
|---|---|
| Center stone type | Moissanite and lab-created diamond usually cost less than natural diamond of the same size |
| Carat and size | The biggest driver; larger stones rise in price quickly |
| Metal | 18K and platinum usually cost more than 14K gold |
| Pavé, halo and hidden stones | More small stones and setting work add to the price |
| Complex details | Filigree, sculpted petals or two-tone work take more workmanship |

Will the ring look like the photo on your hand?
Photos online are often shot close up, on small hands or with heavy editing. A stone that looks huge in a post may be a modest size in real life.
That is why the 3D preview matters. You see the proportions before anything is made, and you can ask for a larger center, a thinner band or a lower setting.
For extra certainty, our $199 Try It In Real Life replica lets you wear the design first. You keep it, and $199 is credited on orders of $1,000 or more.
